In the Spring of 2020, Mr. Akers joined CREW Northern Colorado for a data-driven presentation about the factors driving Colorado’s economy, followed by predictions of COVID-19’s impact. Attendees walked away with an arsenal of market intel that could be used for a variety of purposes, from general knowledge and conversation-starters, to insights that could lead to sharp business decisions. Chris Akers, State Demography Office in the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA)

Chris produces employment estimates and a long-term job forecast for Colorado and its counties. He works with local governments and other stakeholders to help them understand economics through demographic data and forecasts. Prior to joining DOLA, he worked ten years with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) where he produced an array of employment and wage data and reports.  Chris enjoys spending time cheering on Denver’s sports teams and exploring Colorado’s beautiful outdoors with his wife and three young children.
