The Northern Colorado Regional Airport is described by many as the largest untapped economic driver in Northern Colorado. Please come and join us to hear from Jason Licon, Director of the Northern Colorado Regional Airport. Jason will discuss the general activity at the airport and the exciting upcoming project for a Remote Air Traffic Control Tower.
Jason currently serves as the Airport Director of the Northern Colorado Regional Airport and has held this position for eight years. He resides in Fort Collins with his growing family, and is an active FAA certified pilot and commercial UAS/ drone pilot. He became involved in aviation at a very young age with exposure to the industry as the son of an airline employee. He has experience working at multiple airports in varying capacities since the age of sixteen all while continuing his education in aviation and airport management. He is an active member of the Colorado Airport Operators Association (CAOA) serving as the current President of the organization, and is involved with activities that include working with the Colorado Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics on statewide system planning, economic impact studies, and shaping policy and legislative advocacy for airports in the state. He is also working on the creation of an innovative air traffic control tower solution or “Remote Tower” at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport that will serve as the industry standard for future FAA certified technologically advanced air traffic control tower systems.
