Featured Speaker: Heather Jones 

Heather Jones is a Housing Economist with the State Demography Office, specializing in housing demand forecasting, market data interpretation, and housing needs assessments.

Prior to joining the State Demography Office, Heather served at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). During her tenure at HUD, she developed comprehensive housing demand forecasts and authored industry publications, including Comprehensive Housing Market Analysis reports and the quarterly Regional U.S. Housing Market Conditions report. She also worked closely with the multifamily branch to analyze local housing demand for multifamily mortgage applications.

Today, Heather is the principal author of the statewide housing needs assessment, which is planned for release in the third quarter of 2026. She also collaborates with local governments, private companies, and individuals, providing them with the data-driven insights and technical expertise required to interpret complex housing markets and shape effective local housing analysis.
